Maneuvering gives you movement points, as shown in the upper right corner of the character sheet, and since you always have a maneuver action, you can reposition to put yourself in a more advantageous position for attack. You take three actions each turn: one maneuver action and two additional actions of your choice. With 46 pieces of 3D terrain and forty hero and monster miniatures to draw you into the game, your greatest adventure is yet before you! Your objectives will change from quest to quest as you follow the overarching story of the campaign.Ĭore gameplay mechanisms such as combat, fatigue, skills, items, and more have received completely new interpretations with Legends of the Dark, while a new approach to scenario layout and 3D terrain creates striking multi-level scenarios. The leaders of Terrinoth are divided and fractious, unable to unite against these common threats. The demon-tainted Uthuk Y’llan barbarians stalk the realm and the undead servants of Waiqar the Undying venture beyond their borders for the first time in memory. All things I expect to get fixed in future app revisions and things that didn't affect my enjoyment, but overall might grate on me after some more play time.

#Descent legends of the dark solo android
Rotating the camera on the Android app feels really unreliable and bad.

The text on the app is entirely too small on my Android phone. App has some issues I hope get fixed soon! Some of the rules entries around consumables had bad text like instead of a real entry, one of the entries around consumables ended in an incomplete sentence, etc. I'd definitely suggest at least Heroic difficulty if you are an experienced gamer. I'm assuming they do, but I'd hope the rules would flesh things like that out explicitly. I also have never found a single entry in the game that mentions if wounds go away after a scenario ends. This is a guess based on the fact that the found consumables all disappeared from my inventory after the first quest. It seems like maybe I'm supposed to manually track the found ones and only use them once, but then once I craft a consumable its good forever. Specifically how I'm supposed to handle the ones found in a scenario vs the ones I craft. Some confusing rules or missing info from the glossary. I'm always looking forward to what's next when I see the next tile revealed so far. It really increases my immersion and pulls me into the game. These minis are some of the best looking minis I've ever seen. However, the map layout was exactly the same both times. I played the first scenario twice and saw some diversity in the enemies that were spawned and the tests required to interact with certain objects. + Scenarios get some randomization on future play throughs. I actually WANTED to replay the first scenario as the other 2 heroes just to see what they played like. The game still feels like a board game and not like a weird video game and the general presentation is great. + App integration is MUCH better then I feared before buying. I feel like I'm making a lot of meaningful decisions constantly.

+ Combat system is really fun and interesting. I'll edit this later as I get farther if my opinion changes. I have been playing solo on Heroic difficulty controlling only 2 of the 4 characters and have only done the first few scenarios at this point. I've super enjoyed the first few scenarios so far as a single player experience. TL:DR: This game has exceeded my expectations.
